Aberdeenshire is one of the 32 council areas of Scotland. It takes its name from the County of Aberdeen which has substantially different boundaries. Aberdeenshire projects eastward into the North Sea and encompasses coastal lowlands in the north and east and part of the Grampian Mountains in the west.  Aberdeenshire is frankly, huge – still mostly untouched Aberdeenshire has a gorgeous coastline, beautiful Royal Deeside, the Cairngorms National Park and the quirky city of Aberdeen. Aberdeenshire is the fourth largest region in Scotland and is perfect to explore on a road trip.
