Our hotel is located in the heart of England’s smallest cathedral city and faces the magnificent West Front of Wells Cathedral.

Parts of our hotel in Somerset date back to 1422. Wells lies on the Mendip Hills.This ancient range of hills is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
There are many attractions close by. These include Wookey Hole, Cheddar Gorge & Caves, Glastonbury Abbey, Glastonbury Tor, Longleat, Stourhead, Clarks Village shopping outlet and the Fleet Air Arm Museum. The cities of Bath and Bristol are a 35 minute drive away.

We understand that every wedding is different. What doesn’t change is the amount of planning that goes into a successful wedding day. Our experienced staff are here to help. We’ll get involved from the initial planning stages right through to the big day itself. Our aim is to make your wedding day as special as it can be while alleviating some of the stresses along the way.


Civil wedding ceremonies are held in our delightful Garden Room. This light and airy room lends itself perfectly to civil wedding ceremonies. It can quickly be turned around to become a fantastic wedding breakfast venue for up to 40 guests.

After your civil wedding ceremony, you and your guests can enjoy reception drinks in our secluded Walled Garden. Larger parties can make their way to the Ivory Suite which has its own bar.

At the front of our hotel, Swan Terrace provides a unique opportunity to capture Wells Cathedral as a stunning backdrop for your wedding photographs.
Our Cathedral Suite provides a wonderful setting for your first night as a married couple. This stunning Honeymoon Suite was voted Most Impressive Guest Room in the latest, global, Best Western Fan Awards.
The Cathedral Suite will be complimentary to the bride and groom on their wedding night if the value of their booking is £5,000 or over. (Subject to availability)

CONFERENCES

The hotel provides a great Somerset conference venue. Our dedicated conference co-ordinator is on hand to ensure that your event runs as smoothly as possible.

We have 3 individual conference rooms, all with natural daylight. The Ivory Suite is the largest and accommodates up to 100 delegates.
The south-facing Garden Room is an ideal choice for intimate lunches and dinners. It can cater for up to 40 guests. French doors open out from this room on to our secluded Walled Garden.
The Ivory Suite and Garden Room are interconnecting and collectively will accommodate up to 250 guests.
The Exmoor Room is located in our conference centre and accommodates up to 14 delegates in a boardroom layout. This room has air conditioning and black out blinds. The Exmoor Room contains a state of the art integrated plug and play audio visual system, independent direct Wi-Fi and luxury leather chairs with lumbar support!

We offer a wide range of catering including finger buffets and working lunches. Whatever the event, we can tailor make our facilities to suit your individual needs.
Free WiFi, mineral water, cordials, mints, pencils and paper are provided. Wheelchair access, hearing loop and disabled toilets are also available.
Meeting rooms may be hired for different periods of time. We offer half days, whole days, 24 hour periods and inclusive rates.
Our 2 AA Rosetted restaurant offers the finest locally sourced ingredients. Our food combines traditional British cooking with a modern twist.
Open for lunch from 12 – 2pm (12.30 – 2pm on Sundays) and for dinner from 7 – 9.30pm.
