We at Ivy House Weddings are proud to exclusively offer the stunning Calke Abbey. A unique hidden treasure set within six hundred and four acres of historic Derbyshire parkland. At Calke every building has a story to tell with beautiful walled courtyards and distressed paintwork at every turn. The old Riding School is no exception, full of charm, character and quirky features this beautiful space is the perfect blank canvas for you apply your own style and personality.
An old rowing boat resting in the spectacular ceiling beams along with light streaming through the large high set windows creates an inviting and interesting space for you and your guests to spend your special day. White drapes create intimate areas whilst still maintaining a light and airy feel.
Calke Abbey also offers some spectacular locations for photographs including the walled meadow and gardens, the romantic glass Orangery with its domed ceiling, and the house itself. We have some of the oldest trees within the grounds which create stunning and dramatic backdrops for truly unique photographs.
We offer a variety of options within the Riding School and you may hold as much or as little of your day with us as you wish. Complete full day packages are available including your civil Ceremony, Wedding Breakfast and Wedding Reception. Alternatively you are welcome to hold your ceremony only followed by photographs within the grounds or join us later on to continue your celebrations with a Wedding Breakfast & Reception.
Why not stay longer and continue the celebrations, explore the local area, discover the history of Calke Abbey and stop in our Holiday Cottages. The four Holiday Cottages, sleep from 2-14, are idyllically and privately set within the Calke Abbey estate with a home from home feel.
