Worfield Golf Club Roughton description
Sports Club - Golf
Medium (1-150)
Worfield Golf Club embodies tradition and heritage but with a modern, contemporary feel where golfers, their families and friends are welcome for a great days golf in luxurious surroundings.
Nestled in the heart of the Shropshire countryside on the gentle slopes of the former Wyken Estate, 140ft above sea level, the Club benefits from free draining land providing the potential for all year round play. With the feel of an Inland Links course, and established majestic estate trees and gorse shrubs with recently introduced mature native trees protecting the beautiful turf of the fairways, a round at Worfield really is an escape to a rural oasis. And with acres of wildflowers and conservation areas; reintroduced lakes, pools and hedgerows, Worfield is a sanctuary for wildlife too!
Our Reception’s imposing fireplace sets the tone for the hospitality of the comfortable well appointed Clubhouse, the stylish Bistro for casual dining, Spikes Bar for a well earned drink or just relax in the casually comfortable 'Player's Bar', even relax with a game of pool after your round of golf.
At the Pro Shop choose from leading brands including; Polo Ralph Lauren golfwear, Galvin Green and Ecco footwear. You can refresh, re-equip and just head out on to the course.
Having hosted a number of significant events in its early days including the English Senior Championship, the venue were delighted to have hosted the 2012 English Golfing Union National Junior Championship.
Designed and now presented with the feel of a classic track inspired by the styling of Colt and MacKenzie, before long Worfield will be surely spoken about in similar breaths.
