Nothing is quite what it seems at the Morris Hall, originally known as the Bellstone Hall. It displays a magical mix of fourteenth and sixteenth century architecture, but was constructed in the 1930s with wonderful attention to detail by the Arts and Crafts designers of the time. Our aim is to enable as many people as possible to experience this beautiful building in the heart of Shrewsbury, and so we are delighted to be able to offer both the main hall and its smaller sister the Lake Room for hire.

The front door to the Morris Hall is approached by a short flight of steps leading to an impressive doorway which opens into the entrance hall. To the right is the main hall, to the left the smaller Lake Room, and ahead the well-equipped kitchen. You can choose either to hire the entire Hall including the Lake Room, or for more intimate gatherings or meetings the Lake Room can be hired separately. Unfortunately there is no disabled access to the Morris Hall building at present.

The main hall (maximum capacity 160 people) is a spacious and atmospheric space with a magnificent decorative fireplace, a lovely wooden floor and pretty leaded-glass windows. There is a stage, perfect for entertainment or speeches. The main hall comes equipped with 100 chairs and 15 tables which can each seat 8 people comfortably. Dressed professionally by you or your event organiser it becomes a stunning wedding reception or party space, as our slideshow photos illustrate. The Lake Room (maximum capacity 30 people) is a lovely painted and panelled room recommended for meetings, lunches, seminars and workshops. Tables and chairs can be arranged to meet your requirements.
