The new £5.5m Fernhill Community Centre opened on 21 November 2011.
Responding to the wider needs of the local community, this ultra modern, multi-use centre replaces Fernhill Pavilion.
The centre offers a main hall supported with dedicated fully equipped kitchen and bar facilities, a separate tea prep room, a lesser hall / dance studio, an inviting entrance area with relaxed seating and including hot and cold vending, three flexible meeting rooms, a youth area, a 7-a-side and three 5-a-side 3G synthetic pitches with changing accommodation.
The main hall is 265sqm and can accommodate up to 200 people in concert style seating or as many as 150 for catered functions. The lesser hall / dance studio is 79sqm, committee room 1 and 2 are both 51sqm, committee room 3 is 56sqm, and youth room 69sqm.
The facility can be used for a variety of community, social and commercial activities including courses and classes, arts and crafts, sports activities, community meetings, parties and other functions, discos, wedding receptions, slimming clubs, parent and toddler groups, martial arts, and indoor bowling.
