The Rotary Club of Ruthin meets every Wednesday for a meal, business and discussion. Our aims are to support local and international charities and the community.

On a local level, Rotary clubs play an important role in supporting their own communities more directly. As well as organising plenty of our own fund-raising initiatives such as the Ruthin Donkey Derby, our club regularly helps other community groups, notably Ruthin Show Society and Ruthin Festival, by providing manpower for stewarding.

Rotary is often approached by other leading charities to help them raise money from within local communities; either to fund long-term aid projects, important research, or to give a boost in times of crisis brought about by conflict or natural disasters. In Ruthin, we have collected on behalf of The British Red Cross, Marie Curie and the Macmillan Cancer Trust.

A recent community project has been the establishment of the Ruthin Food Bank. The Rotary Club of Ruthin led the way in providing initial financial support and expertise to manage the scheme, which provides supplies for families in need.
