We have a full premises license which covers plays, films, indoor sporting events, live and recorded music, dances, entertainment, late night refreshment and the sale of alcohol.
The Guildhall is available for civil ceremonies and further information can be obtained by telephoning Cornwall Registration Service on 0300 1234 181 or visiting their website at www.cornwall.gov.uk/registration. You can choose from a range of ceremony-only options or use the venue for both your wedding and reception or simply just for your reception and party.
Launceston Town Hall includes The Main Hall, The Guildhall, Conference Suite and meeting rooms and fully equipped professional kitchen. The Main Hall has a 4.2m x 8.5m stage with electric curtains, orchestra pit, changing rooms, professional lighting and sound, cinema projector and screen, top of the range Audio Visual Equipment and a stage extension which converts to a catwalk, backstage access for loading and unloading, fully dimmable chandeliers, blackout curtains throughout and under floor heating.

Launceston Town Hall was built in 1887, and completely refurbished in 2010. The main hall is ideal for theatre productions, films, exhibitions, balls, dinners, dances, concerts, wedding receptions, fashion shows, private parties, fetes & fayres. We have 18 round tables which seat up to ten, 300 comfortable red and gilt chairs, and 22 black and gilt chairs. Trestle tables and other chairs are also available. All hires include use of our cutlery, crockery and glasses if required. Changing rooms, Stage Lighting, Sound Equipment, Projector & Screen, Orchestra Pit, Stage Extension (can be used as a catwalk), Automatic Curtains, Blackout Curtains, Dimmable Chandeliers, Underfloor Heating, Free Wi-Fi

The Guildhall was built in 1881. It has magnificent stained glass windows, with a soaring wooden ceiling. Portraits of former Mayors add to the sense of history and grandeur. The Guildhall still has its original gas lamps – although they now run on electricity. The Guildhall is used by Launceston Town Council as the Council Chamber, but it is also available for board meetings, presentations, weddings, auctions and exhibitions.

The Otho Peter Suite is named after the original architect of the Town Hall, a member of a prominent Launceston family. There are two rooms, which can be used separately or as one larger room. Otho Peter Room 2 has a fixed screen. Blackout is available in both rooms. An additional screen and a projector are available to hire if needed. Free Wi-Fi is available throughout the building. This is a very flexible space, suitable for a variety of uses.

The Dunheved Bar was created during the refurbishment in 2010. The bar area links the main hall with the Guildhall and other parts of the building. There is a contemporary bar area with a specially commissioned Cornish tartan carpet, leading onto a slate floored area with a glass roof giving lovely views of the clock tower. The area can be used by itself or as part of a larger hire. The professional kitchen is adjacent to the bar, and is fully equipped for all functions. We can recommend caterers, or hirers may organise their own catering if they prefer.
