Although the Nene Valley Railway has bigger and more impressive steam engines, to most visitors especially children, the Railway is the home of 'Thomas'. the loco named by the author W Audry.
Thomas and the other engines run on 7.5 miles of track between the rurality of Yarwell Junction and the bustling centre of Peterborough in Cambridgeshire. Its headquarters are at Wansford station beside the A1,on the old Great North Road, and is easily accessible from a large part of the country.
