Swinton Lock Activity Centre is an Arts and Environment Centre developed to address the leisure and learning needs of its local communities primarily within Swinton, Rotherham Borough and the surrounding areas, including some of the Barnsley and Doncaster Boroughs.
Based adjacent to the canal on Dun Street, Swinton Lock Activity Centre is well known within the community. It offers a range of arts and environment related courses and activities to meet community needs, rents out workshops to local art-related businesses, supports local artists with gallery space for exhibitions support with website design, publicity and an Artists Network known as Arts64.
The centre also maintains an attractive community park in conjunction with the local community which also doubles as a sculpture park and where 5 double fishing pegs offer excellent leisure facilities for the local communities and are used by the centre for fishing coaching with young people throughout the year.
