Ysgol Uwchradd Glan Clwyd is a Welsh-medium, comprehensive, community school for young people from 11-18 years old.
All subjects at all levels (with the exception of English) are taught through the medium of Welsh. Where appropriate English may be used in order to ensure that pupils fully develop their competency in both languages.
The school was established in 1956 and was the first Welsh-medium secondary school in Wales. It was originally located in Rhyl. Since this pioneering school was opened, a number of similar schools have opened throughout Wales and their number is still increasing. This is due to their success and the benefits of the type of education offered within them.
