Teynham Village Hall description
Village Hall
Large (1-300)
Teynham Village Hall has a large Main Hall, suitable for all types of functions and a smaller room, designated as a Committee Room, which is suitable for meetings and small functions of around 15 - 20 persons.
The Main Hall is approximately 39' (13m) wide x 66' 9 (22m) long and is licensed for maximum number of persons, including entertainers and staff, of 200. It is well appointed and has a fine polished sprung maple wood floor suitable for dancing.
Immediately adjacent to the Main Hall there is a large kitchen area with a sizable serving hatch into the hall. The kitchen has 3 fridges, a 4-burner gas hob and electric fan oven, and a plumbed-in hot water boiler. Outside caterers often have freezer cabinets available, additional cooking facilities and hot cupboards which may readily be accommodated in the space available. There are work surfaces to two sides of the kitchen, with a double sink unit, and a large island work area. The kitchen hatch area may also be used for a Bar and there are facilities available to allow this to be done. It should be noted that if you use our designated Licensed bar service provider they will normally use two of the above fridges.
The Hall does not provide crockery, cutlery or glasses, but these can be hired from caterers, together with additional tables if required. Some Supermarkets and Off Licenses offer a glass loan service when purchasing drinks from them.
If a Licensed bar is required, this can be arranged with the Hall's designated service provider and details how to do this will be supplied when you book. Information is also available on local caterers and equipment/crockery providers.
Thirty rectangular tables are available, each 6'(1.8m) x 2'6" (0.76m) and 230 chairs. Three persons can be comfortably seated each side of a single table, or 10 around two tables pushed together. Using these tables:
For sufficient room for tables and dancing, we would suggest that around 170 guests is more comfortable.
For 'sit-down' wedding breakfasts, 180 guests may be accommodated seated in groups of 6 on individual tables.
For a formal layout, with tables in lines, plus a top table, up to 120 guests may be accommodated
There is a well lit car park which can accommodate 70 cars. A full-size coach will not be able to negotiate the car park entrance, but mini coaches (say around 16-20 seaters) should be fine. The car park has gated entrance which is locked overnight after the Hall is closed and also has security cameras.
Full facilities are provided for disabled persons, including specially designated car parking areas. Further details will be given of these when booking the hall.
