Situated in Medway’s Historic Rochester, the Kings Rochester Sports Centre was established in 1991 by the Medway Council. The facility was purchased and refurbished by the Kings School Rochester in 2014. Though understated, the venue provides a great canvas for any number of events, functions and meetings. With our professional staff on hand to help you organise your event and bring your ideas together for all occasions.
If you’re looking to book a venue for that special occasion or you need a room for an all-important meeting, our bar and conference room is the way to go. The simple setting allows you the freedom to decorate the space in your own unique way, with a built-in bar and great food options available.
On site we also host an attractive well sized multi-function sports hall, several outdoor tennis courts and an outdoor hard standing Multi Use Games Area; all of which can be hired for sporting events, tournaments, group play, or team building activities. The Venue also holds a modern air-conditioned gym including cardiovascular equipment, resistance equipment, and free weights.
For Private Parties we have a fully stocked bar, a late licence, food options and friendly bar staff ready to help make your special occasion perfect. We can host any type of function you require from birthday parties and anniversaries to Bar Mitzvah’s and surprise parties.
For Larger Conferences our Copperfield Room is a generous size with windowed viewing overlooking the sports hall and tennis courts. The Copperfield Room is ideal for hosting presentations with break-off / discussions groups all hosted in the same area. This area can seat up to 120 people.
For smaller Conferences our Oliver Room is a more intimate size overlooking the outdoor tennis courts. The Oliver Room is ideal for theatre style conferencing with the ability to seat up to 70 people.
The Sports Hall is an ideal area for planning activities within your group that allow for team building games or sports, such as badminton, to break up an event. Using physical activities to keep the attendees mentally prepared and in the best possible state of mind to be able to process the information within the session.
The external sports area comprises of Seven Tennis Courts and a Multi-Use Games Area. This area also contains a seating area which can be extremely welcoming for lunch breaks on a hot summer’s day.
Car Parking; the KRSC has excellent car parking facilities with no cost to you or your attendees. There is little to no walking as parking is directly outside the Sports Centre.
Travel; Located just off the M2 at Junction 3 the KRSC is extremely easy to find. There are also good links with the Train Station (ME1 1NH) and Waterfront Bus Station in Rochester.
Accessibility; Disabled parking spaces are allocated closest to the Centre. There is also lift access to the first floor and accessible toilets.
Alcohol Licence; KRSC is fully licenced to sell alcohol and offers a wide selection of drinks. Late licences are available upon request.
Storage; Overnight storage of equipment used over multiple days is available and agreed on a case by case basis. Lockers are also available for use by all people attending the facility.
