A beautiful Victorian church in the heart of Brighton, St Mary’s can be hired for concerts, fairs, community events, classes, debates, etc. It has a beautiful interior, with an excellent acoustic for music, and can take up to 400 people for a public entertainment. There is a central performance platform, a basic PA (suitable for announcements and public speaking), small kitchen and green room. Alcohol sales permitted with a Temporary Event Notice. There is fixed pew seating in the middle of the church with space at the rear and sides for dancing, stalls, bar, etc. The main floor of the church is accessible by wheelchair. Dog friendly. Toilets are in the neighbouring church hall, including accessible toilet. Community hire rates begin at £20 per hour.

St Mary’s Church Choir Vestry is a cosy Victorian room with a large Persian carpet, electronic piano, and its own heating system. Chairs and tables available. It is suitable for one-to-one interviews and small meetings (10-12 people max); individual tuition in singing, yoga, etc.; play-readings and small theatre rehearsals. Tea and coffee-making facilities available via the main church; toilets in the church hall next door. There are two sets of two steps each to reach the choir vestry from the main body of the church, making it inaccessible to wheelchair and mobility scooter users. Community hire rates begin at £12 per hour.

St Mary's Church Hall is a separate building immediately to the east of the Church. Its large assembly room holds 100 people and has step-free access. It has a small stage and comes with tables and chairs. Good for dance and fitness classes, public meetings, children’s parties, theatre rehearsals, small fairs, cakes sales, etc. The attached kitchen can be used with permission. There is an accessible toilet on the ground floor as well as men's and ladies' toilets on the upstairs floor. Alcohol sales permitted with a Temporary Event Notice. Assistance dogs only. Rate: £18 per hour. One or two car parking spaces may be available. A small amount of storage may be available for ongoing weekly lets at an additional rate of £1 per hour hired. No availability on weekday mornings. Good availability Mon – Sun, 1 pm – 5 pm; some evening slots available too.
