Welcome to Penistone Scout Activity Centre. The centre is an ideal venue for meetings, classes, training sessions, family celebrations and public events. It consists of two large meeting rooms the larger of which can comfortably seat 80 and the smaller room 25. It has a large modern kitchen with modern appliances including a large cooker and water boiler.
Outside there is a large grassed area which can be used for games and the pitching of temporary accommodation (tents / marquees). There is also a large gravelled car park with spaces for 20 – 30 cars.
The centre has excellent access for wheelchair and mobility vehicle users and has disabled toilet facilities. The building has separate female and male toilet facilities and showers.
Situated in the centre of the town of Penistone it affords the hirer to a range of local restaurants, shops, a cinema and a Doctors surgery. The centre is situated parallel to the Trans Pennine Trail and offers walkers and cyclists an excellent base to explore the miles of trails and footpaths in the Pennine Area. The building can be used as a “floor for the night” by groups wishing to stay in the area.
