Oswaldkirk is situated on the south-facing slopes of the Hambleton Hills, overlooking the Coxwold-Gilling Gap. It lies in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and part of the village is in the North York Moors National Park. Most of the village is classed as a 'Conservation Area'.
The Village Hall was built in 1988 and provides a venue for most recreational events including meetings, amateur dramatics, dances, indoor sporting activities and private parties.
It is attractively positioned in the centre of the village, and enjoys delightful views to the south across fields and streams rising to the wooded Howardian Hills in the distance.
The Hall is light, airy and well heated. It can accommodate up to 100 people comfortably and has a well equipped kitchen, toilets (including one for the disabled), and an external store.
Equipment available for musical events includes a piano and amplifier with speakers. A temporary stage can also be erected.
In front of the Hall is a good car park, with further free parking close by along the village street.
