Armathwaite is a small village primary school serving the areas of Armathwaite and Ainstable in the beautiful Eden valley. We are delighted to have gained full primary status in 2011(we were previously a first school), and are now able to offer provision for children aged 4-11 years (Year Reception to Year 6). Currently we have 75 pupils, organised into 3 classes:We are a friendly, caring school where each child is valued and important, a place where school, children, parents and members of the community work in partnership and learn together. At Armathwaite we believe that involving parents and the community in their children's learning is not something that merely produces social benefits, there is strong evidence that this can really make a difference. We know that working together makes Armathwaite a genuine community school in which children thrive.

As a small school we have a strong team of very enthusiastic specialist teachers dedicated to giving children the best possible start.
