Burton Bradstock Village Hall Trust description
Village Hall
Medium (1-150)
Burton Bradstock is a large and pretty village, famous for its position along the Jurassic Coast with its iconic sandstone cliffs marking the start of Chesil Beach. The cliffs offer one of the finest examples of the distinctive, alternate hard and soft layered geology of the Bridport Sands, which make it appear to glow bright gold in the sunlight. The regular rock falls can often expose some important and fascinating fossils, such as ammonites, recognised by their ribbed spiral-formed shell. If you are energetic enough to climb to the top of these spectacular cliff faces, you will be rewarded with stunning views and a varied range of picturesque coastal walks to follow. If fine food is what you seek, you will not be disappointed here as Burton Bradstock boasts one of the finest seafood restaurants in the area: ‘The Hive Beach Cafe’ which has recently been nominated for the Taste of Dorset Awards 2010.
