Colchester YMCA’s Community Hall is a fantastic modern hall with private parking, situated two minutes’ walk away from Colchester Town train station and local car parks, and with easy access to Colchester town centre.

The hall is available for hire 8am-11pm Monday to Friday, and after 1pm on a Saturday subject to availability.

Location & Car Parking:

The Activity Centre is located on Magdalen Street in Colchester, just 5 minutes walk from the town centre. Car parking at the centre is extremely limited; however ample public car parking is situated very near to the centre off St Botolphs roundabout.

Numbers of persons - The room is limited to the following numbers:

Maximum occupancy - 110 persons
Seating Available for - 30 (with tables) 50 (without tables)

N.B. - Extra seating can be arranged with sufficient notice.


Floor Space: The Activity Centre is approximately 5.6m x 14m


Floor Space:

The Activity Centre can be used either as one large hall or one corner can be partitioned off creating two working spaces. Setting up or removing the partition takes approximately 20-30 minutes. Therefore, it is necessary for you to specify in advance, whether or not you require the partition.

Whole Hall - 5.6m x 14m (approx.)

***The hall is not a licenced premises. If you wish to hold events involving alcohol you will need to apply for a TENS ( Temporary event license) from Colchester Council. This costs about £22***
