Creating a Space for Art To Flourish

Phoenix Art Space is a unique arts organisation, located in the centre of Brighton. We were established as a charity in 1995. A thriving and dynamic space, we provide and maintain a range of creative opportunities in the heart of the City, including:

100 affordable artists’ studios
two public galleries
around 12 free exhibitions per year
Alongside our exhibition programme, we put on a range of regular community events which are open to everyone. These include:

talks and presentations from artists & arts organisations
family fun days
short courses, one-day events & drop-in workshops.

Phoenix Art Space is centrally located between St Peter’s Church and the Level, and only a 10 minute walk from Brighton Station.

Our large, airy, light building has a range of creative spaces suitable for exhibitions, events, workshops, and meetings.

Our year-round programme of exhibitions, vibrant café and helpful team form a welcoming and inspiring environment for coming together, sharing ideas, and creating new things.

We have two workshop rooms along our ground floor corridor, the White and Red room. Both have large windows down one side, and are similar in size. They are both besides Canvas Cafe.

These are great spaces for getting messy, painting and making. These rooms are used for our course programme, and can also be hired for independent creative use.

The Red Room is located on the ground floor of our building.

As a creative space with work benches and sinks it's ideal for workshops, rehearsals, team training, activity days, group making events.
