Lanercost by the Earl and Lady of Carlisle in 1952. The hall has undergone major refurbishment in the last ten years, making it a beautiful place to hold a large family event. The hall boasts some beautiful features, such as open beamed roof, dimmable lighting and carefully restored pieces of wall paintings, which are one of very few still in existence today from that period. We have recently taken back our Tudor Chimney Mantle from the Bowes museum, which now is safely back in our hall, looking very much at home and is on view whenever the English Heritage site at Lanercost is open to visitors, unless the hall has been booked for a private event.Exceptional standard village hall for hire for private functions
