he Sir John Moore wedding venue is a unique place for a wedding, party, christening or corporate event. The building is Grade 1 Listed and was designed and built by Sir Christopher Wren in 1697, after being commissioned by Sir John Moore who was a local entrepreneur and eventually became the Mayor of London.

Sir John Moore made his fortune in London and decided to use his wealth to benefit his home County, building the School next to his families estate. A statue of Sir John Moore himself stands proudly in the main Hall of the building. The Sir John Moore wedding venue (which is a registered charity) was born in 1697 upon completion of the building and has been in existence ever since, with any monies raised through its hire, being ploughed back into the charity and the buildings care.

A major renovation project was completed in 2004, and the building is used to host a number of private events, weddings and corporate functions for a number of years. Set in a rural village on the Leicester, Derbyshire border, its certainly something special and a venue that you have to view first hand to really appreciate.
