YHA Eyam description
Hotel / Conference Centre
Medium (1-150)
YHA Eyam (Beech Hurst) is a Victorian folly resembling a tiny turreted castle perched on the hillside above the historic village of Eyam. The house was built in 1887 – the Golden Jubilee year of Queen Victoria and it became a youth hostel in 1972 after several changes in ownership.
The hostel is well-used by school groups, walking groups, families and individuals who come to enjoy the beautiful Derbyshire countryside and discover more about the tragic story of the villagers of Eyam who sacrificed themselves to the Plague in 1665-6 rather than infect other communities. The facilities include accommodation for up to 60, two dining rooms, lounge, games room, cycle store, self-catering facilities, well-tended grounds and two classroom/function rooms.
FREE WI-FI available in communal areas for guests!
