Welcome to Rhyl Golf Club
Rhyl Golf Club is a little gem! Located on the North Wales coast between the seaside resorts of Rhyl and Prestatyn and only 15 minutes from the A55 Expressway which links to the motorway network. Designed in 1890 by James Braid, one of the world’s greatest golf course designers, it still retains trademark features such as subtle dog legs, natural slopes and deep bunkers.
With its 9 green and 18 tee layout, the course, which measures just under 6000 yards, can still prove itself to be deceptively tricky and challenging, especially when the westerly wind blows! A temperate micro climate and free draining sandy soil mean the course is open all year round and temporary greens are rarely in use.
There are also various practice facilities including a putting green, practice ground and short game area. Additionally, there are the amazing views: the Irish Sea flanks the northern edge of the course and offers views towards The Great Orme and Anglesey. To the south lies the impressive uplands of the Clwydian Range and perhaps most stunning of all is the view westwards towards the massive uplands of Snowdonia.
The recently refurbished clubhouse is the perfect place to enjoy quality food and drink, courtesy of Barbara and her team. Members can also make use of the Members’ Bar, complete with snooker table and satellite TV.
