The present course with the help of grants and donations was reinstated in 1995 by a willing band of volunteers after many years of neglect and land changes. A small section of the original which dates back prior to the 1890's when in those early days it was known as Barmouth and District Golf Club as well as the Meirionnydd Golf Club.
As well as challenging for the experienced, it is an ideal day out for the beginner wishing to get started. If you don't have your own clubs or balls, these are available from the Clubhouse. The course is open throughout the year (weather permitting) and if you have your own clubs and the clubhouse is closed, an honesty box is at the entrance to the course.
