The Old Court Room (c.1881) is situated on the ground floor of the building and as the name suggests, was originally used as a Magistrates Court. The public gallery can still be seen at the eastern end of the room.
The Old Court Room is available for hire for private functions and is also ideal for small conferences, meetings, craft fairs and coffee mornings.
The room has a wooden floor and the added benefit of a picture rail with individual spotlights which makes it an ideal room for painting or photographic exhibitions. Hirers may also use the dedicated kitchen.

The Council Chamber (c.1731) is normally only used for official Council business and Mayoral engagements but it is also exclusively available for Weddings and Civil Ceremonies.
The room has two ornamental fireplaces on the north and south walls with a magnificent eighteenth century chandelier hanging from the centre of the ceiling. The chandelier is lit during ceremonies and this adds to the overall ambience of the room.
For those wanting a smaller, intimate ceremony, the room is easily adaptable and still gives a sense of occasion to the proceedings.
The Council Chamber is situated on the first floor, over the portico on North Street, and is reached via the main staircase or lift (if the Assembly Room is not in use).
