The Byre is an award-winning building, often called ‘the best small theatre in Scotland’.
The Byre Theatre is a diverse and culturally vibrant home for all the people who live, study, work and play in St Andrews and beyond.
There’s a new Café Bar downstairs at the Byre, thanks to a partnership with our friends at St Andrews Brewing Company: Monday – Saturday 10.00am – 5.00pm, Sunday 11.00am – 5.00pm, except when there is an evening show, when it closes after the interval.
The A. B. Paterson Auditorium is our main theatre space with 216 seats – each seat enjoys plenty of leg room and a clear view of the stage. The auditorium has played host to a diverse range of live performances and events. Backstage, the A. B. Paterson Auditorium also has access to 3 dressing rooms.
The Lawrence Levy Studio is a flexible studio space with a seated capacity of up to 60 people for a performance or 72 for a screening. The studio has technical facilities including specialised lighting, sound amplification, film screen and projector, and two adjacent changing rooms.
The Neil Anderson Conference Room is a comfortable space with a screen and projector. used for meetings, teaching, and small presentations.
