Philip and Lesley Mellor have, between them, 50 years experience in the hotel and hospitality industry – and it shows! Since acquiring the Dunmuir Hotel in the historic seaside town of Dunbar, a quarter of a million pounds renovation project spanning six months has created an elegant, comfortable and versatile venue for business or pleasure.
The hotel has 20 stylish bedrooms. All are en suite, tastefully decorated and well equipped with flat screen TV, telephone, hospitality tray with tea/coffee and Borders Biscuits, hairdryer and ironing facilities. There are several superior bedrooms as well as cosy wee doubles, standard doubles and twins. Internet access/WiFi is available throughout the hotel.

Residents can relax in our 1902 Bar which offers a fine selection of malt whiskies and other spirits, local ales and cocktails. The bar also has its own menu of homely snacks and hearty plates, with flat screen television to watch those all-important sporting moments or catch up with world news and events. Coffee, drinks and light snacks are also available in our comfortable lobby area.

The Grill is open to both residents and casual diners. It serves one of the tastiest Scottish breakfasts in town and also offers lunches and dinners of traditional and local specialities. These are made using fresh seasonal produce and can be complemented by a suitable choice from our wine cellar. Our chef will also conceive and offer delicious “daily specials”.
