Iona is possibly Scotland’s best known and best loved west coast island. With it’s golden beaches, simply spectacular scenery and amazing wildlife it’s not surprising that people return here year after year. But there is something more to Iona which is hard to put your finger on. It’s a place where the “veils between the worlds are thin”. Iona offers a sense of freedom and tranquility that is becoming increasingly hard to find in today’s busy world.

The St Columba Hotel is proud to continue a long tradition of hospitality, offering an oasis of relaxation, of warmth and friendly service, of comfortable rooms and superb food. It is the perfect base from which to explore and experience the magic and mystery that is Iona, where legend and history are woven together, where the land you walk upon remains pure and largely unspoilt.

We like to think there is something more about the hotel as well. We are proud of our food and in particular of our organic garden produce. We work closely with local producers and we are committed to our extensive environmental policy. The hotel is also licensed as a fish buyer which means we can buy directly from local fishing boats.
