The Hopton Crown description
Hotel / Conference Centre
Medium (1-150)
Welcome to The Crown at Hopton, here we like to continue the tradition of warm hospitality with excellent accommodation accompanied with fantastic, homemade high-quality food. We open our doors to customers old & new looking for a Traditional Inn, with a choice of three dining areas and traditional or modern Accommodation to suit everyones taste in this beautiful part of Shropshire, situated just outside the famous market town of Ludlow.
The Crown was originally a Sixteenth Century Coaching Inn. During the days of mining and quarrying there were many other public houses in the area, but The Crown is the only one remaining. At one time coaches from Birmingham to Ludlow ran past The Crown and it is likely that the Inn would have kept extra horses to assist the steep climb up the hill. Today The Crown is still a popular place for travellers to stop for lunch and refreshments. The original building, which is full of character and period charm, the idyllic setting and not to mention our imaginative, yet traditional menus all add up to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. The area has something for everyone looking to experience the quieter side of life whether it is long walks in the country or visiting places of historical interest.
