WELCOME
Lavenham Priory is a remarkable Grade 1 listed, medieval half-timbered house dating from the 13th Century set in 3 acres of picturesque grounds in the heart of the beautiful and quaint Suffolk village of Lavenham. It has fantastic grounds, an historic herb garden, a well, an underground culvert, amazing fire places and all sorts of historic and interesting nooks and crannies. You can share in its history by staying at Lavenham Priory – which offers luxury self-catering accommodation in one of two adjoining cottages which are ideal for either a couple (sitting room, bedroom and bathroom) OR families / groups (an entire 3 bedroom house sleeping up to 6).
Enjoy a relaxing short or long weekend break or a longer holiday let. Lavenham offers so much for the discerning visitor – including many nearby National Trust properties, access to East Anglia’s beautiful beaches and many local boutique shops and antique warehouses. Although we do not offer bed and breakfast, both properties have kitchen facilities and on arrival, guests will find a complimentary local food hamper. Dining options in Lavenham range from tea rooms, gastro pubs, bistros and fine dining restaurants. The award winning Great House Restaurant and, vibrant and welcoming Number Ten Pub and Bistro are both just a short walk from Lavenham Priory. The world famous Swan Hotel and Spa is 200 meters away.
Getting to us is easy. We are 90 minutes from London by train and can make arrangements for a taxi to collect you from either of the local stations (Sudbury and Bury St Edmunds are 15 minutes away). A car is not essential as so many of the attractions are literally on your door step. If you are driving, allow the following times; London (Central) – 70 miles (2 hours) London (East) – 60 miles (90 minutes) London (Heathrow) – 90 miles (2 hours) London (Stansted) – 37 miles (55 minutes) Cambridge – 40 miles (50 minutes)
