Lancaster Brewery description
Commercial Venue
Medium (1-150)
Lancaster Brewery is one of the largest micro breweries in the North West of England. Our success has been built slowly through the development of quality beers, brewed with the best ingredients available anywhere in the UK, by people that care and using state of the art equipment.
From humble beginnings located in a tired old shed located on the outskirts of Lancaster, the brewery grew rapidly and reached production capacity in 2009. Coinciding nicely with the global recession, it took two long years to raise the finance to enable the brewery to expand and move to new premises located on Lancaster Leisure Park.
The new site offered enormous possibilities. The brewery kit was designed and engineered bespoke to our exacting specifications and offered the possibility of brewing beer to a quality and standard rarely seen amongst other micro breweries. Furthermore, the installation of our own milling machinery, meant we could actually mill the malted barley on premises.
Energy efficiency was of paramount importance. The new gas fired boiler would be three times as efficient as our previous boiler, our used (spent) malt could be transferred easily to local farmers for use as animal feed and the roof-top solar paneling would meet almost all our electrical requirements. Furthermore, the brewing equipment itself was designed to waste as little energy as possible whilst maximising the quality of the beer produced.
From a very simple, primitive brewery located in a tired Lancaster shed, to a modern, energy efficient and much larger brewery situated in a large building with almost an acre of outside space and a large Tap House drinking den. The entire project from conception to completion took almost three years.
