Here at the Wolds Gliding Club at Pocklington we pride ourselves with being not only the premier gliding site in the North but also one of the top sites in the UK. We have a wide base of regular members and also welcome new members and visitors all year round too.

Our facilities are first class and amongst the top few in the UK and indeed Europe. We have a modern two seater glider fleet for training and single seater for club member use. A motor glider is also available for training, in particular for cross country and field landing excercises. For glider launching we have an ultra modern winch together with a backup winch and to complete the launching facilities we have two tugs to get people off the ground quickly on those soarable days.

We own our own airfield and have both grass and hard runways as well as an impressive clubhouse incorporating offices, briefing facilities, bunk rooms, kitchens and most important of all - the bar and social area.

We have a very competitive spirit and regularly host several competitions during the year including the annual Wolds Two Seater competition, the Yorkshire Inter-Club League as well as the occasional National competition and Inter-University events.
