On behalf of the flag officers and club members, I welcome you to the Royal Dorset Yacht Club website.

Our club has been at the heart of sailing in Weymouth for over 100 years and boasts a fascinating history. We recently had our 140th Anniversary of the Royal Dorset Yacht Club and a number of successful commemorative events, including the reintroduction of a Royal Dorset Regatta.


The fabulous clubhouse retains and celebrates the Club's history and traditions whilst providing first class bar and catering facilities, with separate lounge and dining areas, free WiFi and stunning views over Weymouth Harbour. Please keep an eye on the website for more informal and formal opportunities to catch up on the season's events, share some 'salty sea dog tales' and make plans for this season.

We have recently commenced our monthly Members’ nights. A number of interesting talks to wet your appetites for voyages further afield during 2017 are already planned.

The Royal Dorset offers a warm welcome, especially to visiting yachtsmen. We have now introduced a new membership category (Affiliate Membership) specifically aimed at boat owners from other yacht clubs.

To our existing and prospective members as well as visitors, the Royal Dorset is open for you to enjoy.

We also offer hire of the Clubhouse to members and have built strong relationships with various caterers who provide us with excellent food whilst we manage the bar in-house. If you are interested in finding out more about this then please contact us for further information.
