Welcome to Lowther Castle & Gardens.
Looking out across the Lake District National Park sits the romantic ruins of Lowther Castle. A sight of dramatic beauty and splendour, the castle presides over 130 acres of hidden gardens, enchanting woodland and breath-taking views.
Closed to the public for over 70 years the castle & grounds became the subject of one of Europe’s largest renovation projects in 2011. New and inspired garden designs complement areas of wild beauty offering glimpses of opulence and grandeur that once was.
Cafe, Shop, Gardens & Gallery open every day from 10am to 5pm (Summer hours) and10am to 4pm (Winter hours) . Last entry to the Gardens 1 hour before closing.
