This gorgeous single-screen cinema in East Finchley can fairly claim to be London’s oldest continuously-open cinema: it was completed in 1910 and opened its doors in 1912. Since 1985 it has been run as a charitable trust and it retains strong links with the local community. Programme-wise, the Phoenix shows a mix of independent and foreign films, and its auditorium is rightly prized as one of the most beautiful places to watch a film in London.

The cinema can be hired for children's parties, birthdays or other celebrations, fundraising events, as a private screening venue or as a location for film or TV shoots.

The Grade II-listed auditorium features the original vaulted ceiling from 1910 with additional design, including the distinctive Mollo and Egan art deco wall panels added in the 1930s.

It can seat up to 255 customers, with 4 spaces for wheelchair users.

Access to the auditorium is on the first floor which is accessible via staircase or lift.

It is also accessible via a side entrance so organisers, film crews etc can have direct access to the front of the auditorium at street level.
