The Living Rainforest is a popular visitor centre, which inspires people to connect local with global issues. The centre offers a unique rainforest experience, with over 600 plant and animal species, including rare and endangered species of global biodiversity value, enabling visitors to discover the wonders of the rainforest as they wander beneath tropical trees and plants, among our free roaming butterflies, birds and lizards.

March 2006 saw the opening of the Human Impact Building, a brand-new, contemporary building designed to fulfill a multitude of functions. Built from sustainable timber, recycled brick and glass, it is solar powered, insulated with recycled newspaper and ventilated naturally. The main source of heating for the entire complex has been converted from oil to a woodchip-fired biomass boiler.

The Human Impact Building at The Living Rainforest is a social and business venue. It appeals to those who expect quality, care about the environment and would like to contribute to the activities of a unique conservation education charity, through the course of their work.
