Boathouse19 description
Pub / Restaurant
Medium (1-150)
boathouse19 has nestled on the banks of the River Thames for over two hundred years. Formerly an Old Etonian Boathouse, boathouse19 has now been totally restored to compliment the many retained original features of yester year with additional modern essentials. Today boathouse19 offers bespoke luxurious accommodation for the most discerning of traveller.
A riverside cottage, neighbouring Eton College Boathouse, Windsor Castle, and Sir Christopher Wrens Hotel, boathouse19 was formerly used to celebrate the winners of The Eights cup, and has undoubtedly witnessed many famous dignitaries through its doors over times past.
Keeping its boathouse history alive, today an E W Hobbs four skiffs wooden racing boat props The Courtyard wall, with the other half hanging upside down in The River Room to help create the moorish lighting mood, both inside and out.
The Moorings of boathouse19 are still used for Swan Upping today and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth 11 Swan upping crews (Royals, Dyers, and Vintners) are greeted, with complimentary refreshments to end their first day. The boats are tethered to the lower deck moorings overnight, and the crews are treated to a complimentary champagne breakfast and quite possibly a Royal send off, the following day.
