Welcome to the Castle
Roland and Kay welcome you to the Award Winning Castle, Bedford.
Winners of the Great British Pub Awards 2014 for Best Newcomer for East Anglia & East Midlands and runners up in the National Great British Pub Awards for Best Newcomer 2014. November 2014 the Castle being awarded with Pub of the Year, Best Cask Ale Pub and Best Marketing and Innovation pub at The Charles Wells Eagle Star Awards. In March 2015 we were recently awarded by CAMRA Most Improved Cask Ale Pub in North Bedfordshire.
The Castle was recently refurbished throughout in January 2014, this 19th Century traditional family run Inn is situated in the Castle Quay part of Bedford, close to the River Ouse and Bedford's Cecil Higgins Museum, five minutes walk to Bedford Blues ground and just a few minutes walk from the main Bedford High Street.
The Castle is your village pub in the centre of town, we offer a warm, relaxing and friendly welcome as well as freshly prepared home cooked food, traditional Sunday Roast, fine wines, and seven regularly changing cask ales.
There is an enclosed outside courtyard area for the summer months, as well as a large car park. Dogs are welcome in the pub outside of food times.
Functions
We can cater for functions too, so if you are looking for somewhere to have a party, leaving do, christening or even a wake we can supply a either a hot or cold buffet to suit your needs.

If you are looking for accommodation in Bedford, this family run bed and breakfast has five recently refurbished ensuite guest rooms that are fittingly named after famous British Castles, they including a twin room, three doubles, family room with adjoining room with bunk beds and one room adapted for disabled or wheelchair users. All rooms have flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD and Wi-Fi access throughout. Tea and coffee-making facilities and just as importantly a warm welcome from our team.

Check out our events page for What's On at The Castle, with Live music every Sunday evening as well as Pie Night and Steak and Gourmet Burger Night once a month. We also have large plasma screens where we can show selected live sports (but we're not a sports orientated pub!)
