Brooks Hotel Edinburgh description
Hotel / Conference Centre
Medium (1-150)
Located in the vibrant west end of Scotland’s capital, our three-star city hotel offers a boutique bed and breakfast experience that is cosy and luxurious, yet affordably priced.
A top-to-bottom refurbishment in 2013 has given Brooks a fresh, contemporary feel, whilst preserving many of the fine period features of the house and offering all the snug home comforts of a welcoming, family-run hotel. Rooms are stylishly and sumptuously decorated with designer wallpaper, plump bedding, impressive artworks and a unique blend of modern and vintage furniture handpicked from Edinburgh’s independent shops.
Our attractive courtyard is a summer suntrap, offering the perfect place to relax among the flowerpots with an ice cold drink from the well-stocked honesty bar. In winter, retreat to the comfortable lounge with one of our magazines or daily newspapers and relax in the warmth of the fire with a wee dram of whisky, Scotland’s national drink, which you’ll find in our bar.
In the elegant dining room you’ll be treated to one of our excellent breakfasts each morning. Our chefs use only the best quality ingredients, locally-sourced where possible, to create a tempting and extensive menu. Our full Scottish breakfast includes award-winning haggis from a local butcher, whilst simple classics such as boiled eggs and soldiers are always popular, as are the delicious jams with toasted English muffins or thick slices of artisan bread, handcrafted and freshly delivered each morning by a nearby bakery.
We are perfectly located for your trip around one of the UK’s most popular cities, indeed, Edinburgh’s magnificent hilltop castle is just a mile from our door, dominating the city skyline. It’s a gentle ten-minute walk to the labyrinth of historic, cobbled streets of the Old Town, including the famous Royal Mile and Grass market, with its vintage shops, lively café bars and medieval architecture. Alternatively, Princes Street in Edinburgh’s New Town is only a five-minute walk away, offering an exceptional shopping experience amid its broad and handsome Georgian streets.
Getting here couldn’t be simpler. If you’re arriving by train, we’re a five-minute walk from Haymarket railway station, where you’ll also find the stop for the Air link shuttle bus from Edinburgh Airport. Alternatively, we’re just a twenty-minute taxi journey from the airport. If you’re bringing a car, our underground car park is just behind the hotel. Spaces are limited, so we do ask guests to pre-book a space in order to avoid disappointment. These are charged at £12 per day (payable directly to the hotel) and issued on a first come first served basis. On-street parking is available just off Grove Street and is chargeable between 8.30am and 6.30pm Monday to Saturday, but is free of charge overnight and all day on Sundays throughout the city centre.
We look forward to welcoming you at Brooks Edinburgh or at our two boutique guesthouses in the West Country, Brooks Guesthouse Bath and Brooks Guesthouse Bristol.
