The Fourteas description
Pub / Restaurant
Medium (1-150)
Come and visit us at The Fourteas for all the fun of the forties without the rationing.
Here you will step back in time to an era of good quality home cooked food, locally sourced ingredients and high quality friendly service.
Relax and listen to the likes of Vera Lynn and Glen Miller whilst sampling our famous Ivor Novello Afternoon tea, a tiered stand of freshly made sandwiches, homebaked scones with strawberry jam and cream and a selection of dainty cakes, biscuits and pastries all accompanied by our own house blend tea. To complete the experience, why not indulge with a glass of chilled Prosecco.
Ivor Novello vouchers can be purchased at the tearoom or over the phone with a credit or debit card, these can be posted at the additional cost of £1.00.
Sway to the sounds of the Andrews Sisters whilst enjoying a pot of one of our wide selection of loose leaf teas, a delicious coffee or even Ovaltine. The Noel Coward hot chocolate with all the trimmings will have you coming back for more.
There is always a good selection of homemade cakes on offer and of course our famous fruit, plain or cheese scones. We also serve light lunches, jacket potatoes and an all day Monty breakfast.
Upstairs is the Spitfire room, which can be booked for groups between 10 and 20. This is extremely popular for special birthdays and hen parties. There is no extra charge for booking this room but we do include a 10% service charge in the final bill. If you want an exclusive venue for just 4 people then our 1940s sitting room could be just the place for you, complete with sofa, chairs and a wind up gramophone, both can be booked by a simple phone call on 01789 293908
In the warm weather we have a secluded tea terrace and beyond that a large garden with an original Anderson shelter. So enjoy a glass of wine or maybe even a Pimms in the Peace Garden away from the crowds.
For coeliacs we have fruit and cheese scones and at least one cake made from gluten free ingredients and gluten free bread rolls to make up sandwiches. Although as a busy working bakery we cannot guarantee cross contamination we do everything we can to minimize the risk.
