We would like to make our home, your home for your stay. You will find Wollaston a very relaxing place to be, elegant but comfortable, polished but relaxed. A hunting lodge that was built by The Albright family in the early 1700s. As the family became more successful they built Wollaston Lodge and acquired over 1000 acres as a gentleman’s playground.

The present house reflected the family’s success. The two Cedars to the front of the house were planted at the same time as the house was built in 1840. Wollaston Lodge is positioned to be totally south facing and enjoying the morning sun. It’s elevated position allows breathtaking views across the valley to Long Mountain. All the suites look out over the Italianate gardens built by the present owners to the views beyond.

The Lodge is situated between the Historic Market town of Shrewsbury and Welshpool. From here you can strike out to mid Wales, Snowdonia and the coast. We have plenty of activities close by and you can use our own tennis court.

We aim to make your stay a thoroughly enjoyable experience combining the comforts of a traditional country house with the luxuries of modern living. Having lived here for fifteen years, Sandy and Grant will help you to get the most from the local area and further afield.
