Henley Royal Regatta - Leander Club - Marquee Venue description
Marquee Venue
Medium (1-150)
The greatest history. The most success.
Welcome to Leander Club
Founded in 1818, the Club boasts an unsurpassed record in rowing achievements. In fact, Leander Club Members have won more Olympic medals than any other single-sport club in the world.
Extraordinary talent
Leander Club is as much a home to heroes such as Sir Steve Redgrave and Sir Matthew Pinsent, as well as double gold medallists James Cracknell, Steve Williams and Pete Reed, as it is to the champions of tomorrow. That’s because we aim to attract and develop young oarsmen and women with high-potential; providing them with state-of-the-art facilities and world-class coaching.
Active Membership
All our 3,600 Members world-wide share the Club ethos of encouraging good fellowship, celebrating success and valuing our heritage.
Our 2,600 Full Members comprise leading past and present British and overseas oarsmen and women, together with those who have given special service to the sport of rowing. Many continue to be instrumental in helping to shape the future of British rowing.
We also have around 1,000 Members who are non-rowing qualified and they equally enjoy the use of our social, accommodation and meeting facilities.
Further information about joining Leander Club is available in the Membership section.
Dress Code
The dress code throughout the clubhouse is defined as ‘smart casual’. Smart jeans or chinos are acceptable but not sportswear, shorts or trainers please. Members are reminded that the Club Pink livery and Club buttons are the strict preserve of Full (rowing qualified) Members and may not be worn by others.
