MELLERSTAIN HOUSE - Marquee Venue description

Marquee Venue

Medium (1-150)

One of Scotland’s finest stately homes, this outstanding Georgian mansion house set in acres of parkland is a unique eg. of Adam design. Mellerstain, a feat of architectural genius, was built in two stages – the two wings in 1725 by Scottish architect William Adam and the large central block between 1770 – 1778 by his more famous son, Robert.

This Robert Adam masterpiece is a ‘must-see’, complemented by the fine art (Aikman, Gainsborough, Ramsay, van Dyck), period furniture, china and embroidery collections within. Its idyllic location does not disappoint, set in acres of stunning parkland, formal gardens, lakeside walks and coffee shop.
