Inshriach House - Marquee Venue description
Marquee Venue
Medium (1-150)
Inshriach House was built in 1906 by the Blacks (of the Glasgow publishing family) as a shooting lodge. It has been brought into the 21st century with the addition of a wood pellet hot water system and a set of solar panels on the roof.
Inshriach is a family home but retains much of its Edwardian atmosphere with dark panelling, open fires, period furniture and a big farmhouse kitchen. You may find yourself sleeping in Mrs. Black’s room, Mr. George’s room, the French maid’s room or in the old servants quarters. The Black family have long since gone as have, unfortunately, the staff.
Downstairs there are two drawing rooms and a library opening off the hall where there is a dining table to seat 20. There is a formal dining room for 12 and a sunroom for the summer. Upstairs there are beds for 17 (5 doubles, 2 twins, 3 singles) and the house has its 3 original Edwardian bathrooms (one with a shower). 7 of the bedrooms have basins.
Outside there is a gas barbeque and lots of garden furniture. The 1930s squash court has now become a guitar and joinery workshop while we finish various building projects around the estate.
