Situated in a clifftop position with panoramic views along the nine mile sweep of Start Bay in South Devon, the village and parish of Stoke Fleming is a great place to live or to visit. The village itself is a thriving community, the social life of which is centred on its pub, post office, primary school, church, village hall and a range of clubs and interest groups. Below the village lie Blackpool Sands, and beyond that several miles of other beaches. In the peaceful and rolling countryside behind the coast there are several hamlets – Ash, Bugford, Embridge and Bowden – that form the wider parish.
