Formed in 1864 by officers of the East Lancashire Regiment, East Lancashire club has been an ever present member of the Lancashire Cricket League since its foundation in 1892.

Over the years East Lancs has grown to become one of the premier sports and social clubs in the Blackburn area offering the best not only in cricket but also crown green bowls and squash. The club fields three senior cricket teams and boasts a strong junior section with teams ranging from Under 9 up to Under 17. The two excellent bowling greens are used by six East Lancs teams playing in the Blackburn and Darwen bowling leagues. The Club also runs an extremely successful winter bowling programme. East Lancs has three high quality squash courts open 12 hours a day 7 days per week with teams playing in leagues covering Lancashire and Greater Manchester.
