Welcome to the official website of Tupton Parish Council.
Tupton is a village in North East Derbyshire located 4½ miles south of Chesterfield. It lies just north of Clay Cross on the A61 (Derby Road) which runs from Chesterfield to Alfreton.
The Parish of Tupton comprises areas of Old Tupton and New Tupton but is generally referred to as Tupton. The village has a primary and a secondary school with a sixth form; a Village Hall; a Church and Methodist Chapel; numerous shops and a Youth Centre.
A carnival is held each year during July/August. A young person is elected Carnival Queen and travels through the village as part of a procession of floats which ends on the Primary school field where stalls are set up and a stage for music and other entertainment is provided.
