Our village hall was built to commemorate those who lost their lives and were injured in World War I and it is an important community asset. However, although it is a much loved building that has played an important role in community life, it’s looking rather tired and needs some modernisation. Those of you who sat in winter coats with chattering teeth through last year’s panto will know that improving winter warmth has to be a priority!

The Hall Trustees are getting ready to launch a four year Glanton Memorial Hall Appeal on 3rd August as part of our day of remembrance and reflection. We hope to complete the work needed in time for a celebration to mark the end of WWI in August 2018. We are preparing a long shopping list of work that needs to be done (including improving insulation and winter warmth!) and researching grant funding possibilities. However, we need your support to demonstrate to external funders that the village is fully behind the project.

One easy way to help, meet friends and have fun is by coming along to hall activities and our fundraising events. You’ll see a few new ideas on the list below and we are always looking for new suggestions and offers of help – even an hour of your time makes a difference…..there’s always a job to be done and we can always provide tea and cake!
