The Mere Lecture Hall is run by the Mere Lecture Hall Trust
(charity number 202620) for the benefit of the people of
Mere and the surrounding area. There is a large main hall
and two further areas that can be used. The main hall will
accommodate approximately 100 people seated and has a stage
with lighting and a sound system. A smaller side hall is
well suited to groups of around 20 people and the front hall
includes a kitchen area with sink, urn, microwave and
crockery.
The main hall has a loop hearing system and there are walk-
around microphones.
Room 1 Main Hall: The main hall has a stage with lighting and
entrances at the side for performers to enter and leave.
In addition to the main curtain there are other drapes and
scaffold from which to hang scenery.
There is lighting and a sound system to support a
production.
Seating can be provided for up to 100 people and there is a
loop system around this main hall with portable microphones.
The hall is currently widely used by toddler groups through
sports clubs to films and plays.

Room 2 Small Hall: The smaller hall is ideally suited to groups of
around 20 people who can be seated with tables.
This hall can be hired at the same time as the other areas and
is useful as an area to display information or exhibits.

Room 3 Front Hall: The front hall houses the kitchen area and is
ideally suited for greeting people at a function or for
smaller groups where the other halls are not in use. Please
note that groups using the other halls may need access to
the kitchen which is in this area.
